There have been many changes to employment law since the beginning of COVID-19 in Australia. The Fair Work Act 2009 has introduced a new part to govern the changes to employment due to the virus.

The Act has been amended to introduce ‘Part 6-4C Coronavirus Economic Response’. This part lists changes as a result of the pandemic as well as amended employer and employee rights including:

Jobkeeper and stand down
Duties, location, and days of work
Taking paid annual leave
Rules regarding Jobkeeper
Dealing with disputes
Exclusions
